Ben and I celebrated Valentine's day last night since as of 11AM today he is on the road for like 3 weeks. It was a lovely night. He got me a dozen red roses... and you must understand, Ben does NOT buy flowers. So getting flowers from him is a big deal (it's actually never happened before!)
After the flowers we went to dinner at Ichiban where we loaded up on sushi of various sorts. I also had some tasty negimaki beef. It was a busy night for restaurants last night (Friday night before Valentine's) but we kind of knew that going in so we weren't bothered by waiting for a table unlike some other douchbags who chanced into the tiny restaurant. Apparently 10 minutes for a table is just not acceptable.
I wonder if these people realize that they are going to waste AT LEAST 10 minutes going from restaurant to restaurant checking the wait times as opposed to just being patient. On top of that, if they want to find a restaurant with no wait time on a Friday night at 7:30PM (once again not to mention it's the day before Valentine's day) they best be content with ordering up some Big Macs at McDonalds because it's just not going to happen.
Anyway, after dinner we went to the Cheesecake Factory and picked up some cheesecake, sang Dr Horrible at the top of our lungs and then came home to watch some Sci Fi and have a couple drinks.
It was a great night. It was the first time I've ever actually been in a real relationship on Valentine's day and I am very happy that it is with Ben and we have a lot more Valentine's days to look forward to together.
As for right now, I'm mildly bored but that's cool.
