Actually, not much to report.... I just wanted to update and let the people of LJ land know I'm alive... sort of.
I caught a really bad cold over the weekend and it has been sapping my energy. It's the typical stuff, my nose is a never ending snot fountain, my throat is sore and I have a cough.
The sore throat is actually a new addition--it replaced my pounding sinus headache. Granted I feel better than I did on Sunday. Sunday I was wanting nothing more than to lay down and die. And Ben pretty much let me do that. (well lay down... not die) He kept me supplied with Sprite, Vicks and cough syrup and let me just lay around all afternoon watching movies. (FYI: Steamboy + Nyquil = some seriously messed up dreams)
As of today I'm feeling better. I can definitely tell I'm on the mend. I'm not going through near as much Vicks chest rub as I was. (Though admittedly that stuff is my crack) And I'm not as run down and weak as I was. So yeah. Hooray for that.
In other news... I HATE SLEET!
We (like many other cities) got a significant amount of snow last night... but the snow isn't the problem... it's the inch of sleet we had to go with it. So our snow has a crunchy outer shell on it... and so do our cars and our trees and everything else in the city.
And as a final note... The senate passed the DTV Delay bill on Monday that will push the February 17th Digital Broadcast Transition back to June 12th. It's supposed to go through the House of Representatives for approval on Thursday I think... I have a feeling it's gonna get passed. And if it does I can see the logic behind delaying it... but for a person who works in the Cable TV industry... I just want to get it over with.
Do you know how many confused people we have calling us every day all "Is my cable gonna go away in February when everything goes Digickal?" Or "So I'm gonna get HD in February even though I don't have and HD TV or HD converter?" Or "So I'm gonna get every single channel ever created come February?" I just want it all to end... Is that too much to ask?
With that said, I'm out.
